Lake Chelan has many amazing winter activities, but one of our favorites is skiing. If you’ve been skiing near Lake Chelan, you know that the area’s natural beauty makes the experience like none other. If you haven’t, you might not know about the great ski areas around Lake Chelan. Find out our top 4 places to go skiing near Lake Chelan below. Echo Valley Ski Area

Located just around 20 minutes from Lakeside, Echo Valley Ski Area is fun for the whole family. This non-profit ski area has been in operation for over 60 years, thanks to many volunteers. At Echo Valley, you can find all runs from beginner to expert, so the whole family can enjoy skiing together.

If you enjoy winter sports but skiing isn’t your favorite, Echo Valley also has snowboarding and snow tubing.

Echo Valley Ski Area is also home to the Lake Chelan Ski Club. Membership to this club includes a season pass to Echo Valley, as well as discounts to other ski areas, including some of those listed below! For more information, click here.

Mission Ridge

Mission Ridge is around an hour away from Lakeside Lodge. Here, enjoy beginner, moderate, and expert level trails on 2,000 acres of land. Mission Ridge first opened in 1966. New this year is the Fun Park, a park with fun extras such as tunnels–designed for all ages! You can check out the Fun Park or stick with more traditional skiing at Mission Ridge.

Mission Ridge also offers snowboarding in case you prefer it to skiing. They also have many events outside of winter sports, like live music on Saturday nights.

At just over an hour away from Lakeside Lodge, Loup Loup Ski Bowl is another ideal ski area. With 300 acres of terrain, Loup Loup’s Alpine ski trails offer plenty for beginner and more experienced skiers.

Loup Loup also offers snowboarding, tubing, snowshoeing, flat tire biking, and a recently opened Luge trail. Luge is no longer just for Olympians thanks to the Bear Mountain Luge Experience.

Stevens Pass

This is the furthest ski area from Lakeside: 90 minutes to 2 hours away. But when you visit Stevens Pass, you’ll realize the drive is undoubtedly worth it. Stevens Pass was recently purchased by Vail Resorts, the premier mountain resort company in the world. There are 37 major runs at Stevens Pass, covering over 1,100 acres of land. There are runs for beginner, intermediate, and advanced skiers.

Snowboarding is also offered at this ski area.

Stevens Pass is part of the Outdoors for All Foundation, a non-profit organization that offers adaptive skiing and snowboarding to make the sports accessible to all.
