Chelan Evening Farmers Market is here! Read on to learn a little bit more about this local gem and how you can be involved in a Chelan community experience!
How did the Chelan Evening Farmers Market start?
The Chelan Evening Farmers Market (CEFM) has been a downtown Chelan summer staple since 2011 when Mike Sherer created it to showcase the quality of produce from farmers in the surrounding counties. CEFM aims to encourage people to eat local, initiate living-wage farm jobs, facilitate new farmers, and provide an event of merit for downtown Chelan. Using these four goals as inspiration, CEFM has grown into a beloved tradition for locals and visitors alike.
What can I expect from my experience?
CEFM is labeled as a farmers market, but offers so much more! This year, there are over 30 vendors selling produce, art and food to munch on while you enjoy the market. Products range from cherries to handcrafted jewelry to various matcha teas, and tons more in between. There is also entertainment for children, live music, educational talks and charitable opportunities. And last, but certainly not least, there is always the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the Chelan community. Therefore, CEFM wants everyone to remember to Choose Local, Eat Local and Enjoy Local!
How do I get there?
CEFM is located on the corner of S. Emerson and Wapato Streets, right in between the Riverwalk Inn and Riverwalk Park. Click here for more information and don’t forget to visit on Thursdays from 2pm – 6pm to hang out and enjoy the wonderful experience CEFM has to offer this summer and fall!
