Lake Chelan is a wonderful destination for families! We have so many fun activities for people of all ages, the whole family will have a blast. We’re going over some of our favorite Lake Chelan family activities to help you when you’re planning your next trip!
Hiking
Hike the Echo Ridge trails for an up-close experience with nature the whole family can enjoy! Echo Ridge has nearly 25 miles of trails. Tour these trails and travel over open ridge tops, through forests, and see incredible views of Lake Chelan. The trail difficulty ranges from “easy” to “most difficult,” but most trails are wide and child-friendly.
Biking
If you love experiencing nature but don’t want to do it on foot, consider renting a bike and touring the town on two wheels! Explore some of Lake Chelan’s trails and feel the wind in your face as you uncover the town’s hidden gems.
For older families, check out the Chelan electric bike tours. On these guided tours you’ll experience Lake Chelan like a local and gain a new perspective of the area.
(Mini) golf
Chelan has many incredible golf courses. If your family wants to tee up for the full course, we have plenty of options. Spring, summer, and fall are all great times to experience golfing near Lake Chelan, and we recommend these courses.
If you’re not on board with the “big” golf experience, we recommend mini golf! One of our favorite Lake Chelan family activities, mini golf combines a little competition with a lot of fun! We recommend visiting Watson’s Alpenhorn Cafe, Desert Canyon, or The Green at Don Morse Park for some of the best mini golf around.
Visit Stehekin
Stehekin is the perfect place for a day trip. This secluded town has plenty to offer, and is just plain gorgeous. If you like waterfalls, outdoor activities, local charm, or incredible homemade pastries, your family will have a blast visiting Stehekin!
Lady of the Lake tour
“And how do I get to Stehekin,” you ask? Well, the Lady of the Lake tour is a great way to visit the valley! Experience the natural wonders of Lake Chelan up close on this boat tour. As far as Lake Chelan family activities go, we know we have a lot to offer, but we highly recommend taking this tour if you have the time. See the wildlife and wilderness up close and in its natural state, and create memories you’ll never forget.
Lakeside Park
When you’re in Lake Chelan, you want to embrace nature as much as possible. At the aptly-named Lakeside Park, sit on the lakeshore and enjoy the lake. Take a picnic lunch, let the kids run around on the playground, and relax on the sandy beach. The best part? Lakeside park is adjacent to Lakeside Lodge and Suites!
Experience the Lake
Similarly, when you’re in Lake Chelan it makes sense to set aside time to really enjoy the lake. Whether this means swimming, renting a boat, fishing, or just sitting by the water soaking in the view, you can’t miss Chelan’s main attraction!
